Summer Blues

Farewell summer, your warmth has finally reached me.

The summer of 2009 was nice and breezy, easy and relaxing, time ticked away slowly, yet when it ended the actual passings of each day seemed much shorter. This season certainly has its perks; The sunny days, the resplendent skies, and of clouds that billowed by, I took it all in while walking to and fro on my daily tread to the library. Greedily, I assimilated myself to all the surrounding scenery, although with the poor quality cellphone camera that belittles what your eyes could see for itself, but still, I tried to capture these few treasures on the brightest days here. Looking up at the clear-blue vastness and almost tripping on my missteps due to uncompleted sidewalks, I've never found a scene more glamorous and animated to observe than the neighborhoods filled with summer colors and softly breezed through by some gentle wind. Though it may get humid, and for sure it got sweltering, it provided more fuel to the cause to...go to the pool, the beach, or letting go of our self-discipline for ice cream. Personally, I went to the pool (thanks JF), the beach (thanks a ton JF), and had more than my share of ice cream too! Summer has never been my favorite period, but for once I began to cherish bits of this year's summery days, trying to catch its zeal before it fleets away. A tardy effort since it'll continue on its way as if it's impolite to overstay its welcome, but only ends up returning shamelessly the next time around. The end of this summer symbolizes the end of my solitude, marking a change in my perspective and gone now will be those doleful summertimes. Summer has grown on me and I have grown new fondness for it. The next year when I start to feel my skin sweat, I won't be haughty or in a foul mood, I'll accommodate myself to celebrate this one indispensable anniversary.

Being busy with school, I haven't had time to acknowledge a slight change in my mood towards summer. So before I forget, I'll say my goodbyes to summer early and wave excitedly to our parting, since I will see you again right on time next year.

I need to go to the beach to get myself some tanning! But too bad I have classes now and even during my holidays no one will be free to accompany me =(

hey Kris, the summer there look nice!

Summer in Australia is super duper hot. The temperature went up to 40'C. I was burned like a roast duck then.I personally love spring and winter.

Thanks for sharing.

Ps: I particularly love the 1st, 2nd and the last picture. They look so nice and peaceful.

Btw, that bowl of 'thing', is it ice cream?

in malaysia, it's either freaking hot from days of sunlight or freezing cold from nonstop raining and it's all year long...so, for us malaysians, summer means endless blockbuster movies and that's what i like about summer...XD

LM!
you want a tan look? hehe, maybe it'll work for you, def. not for me. Glad you're feeling better too :)

Steveeee!
I don't know what 40'C is >< we use all Farenheit here...well I just looked it up, it's 104 F WOW. it hasn't gotten that hot where I live in a long long time.
I like the last pic too haha :) oh that bowl of ice is shaved ice, it's popular in Taiwan, and some places here I thought Malaysia might've had that. This one had fruits in it...

成亿!
Malaysia only has two main seasons? They sound intense too! Living here with 4 seasons is definitely a reason I don't want to go too far away, we get rain, sunshine, snow, hurricane(uh...), and sometimes tornado (rare!) haha!

Autumn is my favorite season too! exactly for the same reasons as you, I also like to wear layered clothing haha. I've never heard that Japan has really hot summers, but it must be! Hmm if I go to Japan will you treat me mochi, if Malaysia curry mee and roti canai!? haha jk =]

Kris said...

Hi William, are you asking me if I'm an ABC...

steve said...

Hahaha....Kris!
Just a mere coincidence...
ABC = American Born Chinese right?
but ABC in Malaysia means shaved ice. I think william is asking about the shaved ice with fruits up there...LOL

Kris said...

OMG sorry William, for my misunderstanding *embarassed*, and yes that is ABC. Nice to see you though >_<

Whoaaa it's Savante!!
Hello there, thanks for dropping by, and I do hope the goddess of rain goes to replenish your waning spirits...summer is just too too hot sometimes, esp in Asia!

Summer is nice, winter is much more nicer... Too hot in Malaysia.

oooh ABC...without toppings?

Mack the Dagger said...

pretty summer. looks mild. ugh - not like our russian summer. hot and dry - any second u can get a heatstroke if ur not careful. and nasty sunburns too. what an irony for a cold and icy country.

Min!
haha yes, summer in Asia is almost unbearable right? But most of all, I can't stand mosquitoes!

Maksim!
it is ABC, with fruits and rice cakes! although there was none left by the time we remembered to take a pic of it! I have heard Russia has some of the harshest weather, esp. winter...like how it killed armies in WWII haha nvm!
